Betsy Fielding

Betsy Fielding is a production and operations manager for HHMI Tangled Bank Studios. In this role she manages in-house productions, commissions, and co-productions for studio programs such as, “The Battle to Beat Malaria” and "Nature’s Fear Factor," which aired on PBS NOVA. Additionally, she works with the Outreach and Communications team on companion short films developed by HHMI Tangled Bank Studios and production partners.

Fielding has more than 25 years of experience in production. Prior to joining HHMI Tangled Bank Studios, she served as a production and operations manager at Discovery Communications, where she worked on high-profile Discovery programs including "Shark Week" specials, "Iron Resurrection" and "Puppy Bowl." She worked on more than 50 series and specials at Discovery's networks, including the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Velocity. At Discovery, she managed productions including tax incentives and logistics, such as animal handling coordination with the American Humane Association. She also spearheaded workflows, standardized operating procedures, and served as production manager on development projects with external networks such as Viacom and Scripps. Earlier in her career, Fielding was a freelance production manager working with talent on-location and in the studio.
